Vahagn Hambardzumyan Appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Vahe Meliksetyan Foundation
Vahe Meliksetyan Foundation is proud to announce that during the regular session of its Board of Trustees held on May 4, 2025, leading Armenian surgical oncologist Dr. Vahagn Hambardzumyan was elected Chairman of the Board for a two-year term.
In addition to his extensive professional experience, Dr. Hambardzumyan was a close university friend of Vahe Meliksetyan. His appointment is not only a recognition of his professional merit but also a symbolic step toward continuing Vahe’s efforts to advance clinical pharmacy in Armenia—with loyalty and deep dedication.
Dr. Hambardzumyan currently works as a surgical oncologist at the Heratsi No. 1 University Hospital Complex and teaches at the Department of General Surgery at Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi. He is the founder of the Armenian Society of Surgical Oncology, the ambassador of the European Society of Surgical Oncology in Armenia, and the regional representative of the Global Cancer Institute.
In his remarks, Dr. Hambardzumyan said:
“It is a great honor and responsibility for me to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Vahe Meliksetyan Foundation. Vahe left us with a message never to give up. I, too, will strive to never give up and to bring Vahe’s dream to life.”
